Our home was built in 1963 and is located in Cheyenne, Wyoming. After years of deferred updates, we are planning a series of targeted renovations to modernize key spaces while preserving the home's character and craftsmanship.

Front Porch Renovation

Front Porch Renovation

Add a timber-frame covered porch over the front entry with a gabled roof, natural wood posts and beams, new decking, and integrated lighting to dramatically improve curb appeal.

Current Condition

Existing flat porch roof with ornate decorative iron railings, aging support posts, and original concrete surface. No architectural character at the front entry.

Desired Outcome

Heavy timber Craftsman-style covered porch with a prominent front gable, exposed beams and knee braces, brick column bases matching the home, tongue-and-groove wood ceiling, recessed LED lighting, and coordinated black or bronze hardware.

Laundry Room

Laundry Room

Full renovation including new flooring, cabinetry, and countertop to transform a dated utility space into a functional and attractive room.

Current Condition

Concrete slab floor, open wire shelving, washer and dryer along one wall, and no dedicated cabinetry or countertop. Large open room with existing shiplap accent wall.

Desired Outcome

Gray shaker-style upper and lower cabinets with integrated hanging rod, continuous butcher block or laminate countertop wrapping the L-shaped layout, epoxy flake floor coating, and preserved shiplap accent wall.

Family Room — Dry Bar & Pantry

Family Room — Dry Bar & Pantry

Renovate the existing dry bar with floating shelves, new base cabinets, updated countertop and backsplash, integrated lighting, and modernized pantry doors.

Current Condition

Dated arched wood cabinetry with brick veneer backsplash, worn countertop, and decorative wood arch surrounding the pantry opening. Existing coffee and bar appliances in use.

Desired Outcome

Clean modern dry bar with two floating shelves, soft-close base cabinets, quartz or butcher block countertop, new backsplash, concealed warm-white LED shelf lighting, and updated pantry doors with modern casing.

Family Room — Fireplace

Reface the existing brick fireplace with a modern stone or brick surround and install a new wood mantel.

Current Condition

Original wood-burning fireplace with a large custom wood surround, built-in shelving, and dated decorative woodwork. Brass fireplace doors. No gas line currently present.

Desired Outcome

Gas-converted fireplace with a full-height light tumbled brick surround, chunky stained wood beam mantel, black-frame doors, raised brick hearth, and in-wall TV and media provisions above the mantel.

Back Porch Enclosure

Back Porch Enclosure

Enclose the existing covered back porch to create a three-season room extending the living area while maintaining backyard views.

Current Condition

Open concrete patio with no overhead coverage. Hot tub, dining set, and grill currently on the slab. Existing concrete in good condition.

Desired Outcome

Permanent pergola-style enclosure with clear roof panels for natural light, three full-height insulated garage doors with window panels, finished wood ceiling, full electrical including ceiling fans, lighting, outlets, and TV rough-in.
